Song of the Coast is proud to welcome CHRISTINE GARROT as our new Director. Stay tuned for her Bio and much, much more!!! Here are a few more people that make our ensemble tick: Charlene Yazurlo Charlene Yazurlo serves as Associate Director of Song of the Coast chorus. Charlene was raised in a musical family and began studying piano at the age of four. Her musical expertise eventually brought her to the art of 4-part harmony, barbershop style, as a charter member of Vienna Falls Chorus in 1965. In 1969 she was co-founder of Circle Cities Chorus in Ft. Worth. Charlene joined Daytona's Famous Beach Chorus in 1987 and was soon enjoying her first experience as a director. An approved arranger in the International Music Arrangers Program (IMAP), Charlene has taught Music Theory and Arranging at Regional meetings as a member of DMA faculty, and served as coordinator of the Region 9 Arranging Program. As Associate Director, she shares her arranging skills and incomparable ear with the chorus, reminding us that "excellence is not an accident."
Diane Johnson Diane Johnson is Associate Director and Tenor Section Leader for the chorus. Diane is a retired music teacher and is blessed with almost perfect pitch. Diane earned a B.A. degree in Music Education and completed graduate work in Chorale Music. Diane joined Song of the Coast in 2004 and recently completed her Director certification through Sweet Adelines International.
Sue Reardon Associate Director Sue Reardon is a “graduate” of Sweet Adelines Director Certification Program, an intensive educational course designed to train new musical leaders for our organization. Sue joined the Millstone Valley Chapter of Sweet Adelines in New Jersey in 1993, relocated to Florida and joined Song of the Coast in 2004.As a Certified Director, she assists Faye with rehearsals, and directs a number of local performances.
