Friends in Harmony,
First we’d like to offer a short synopsis of our chorus formation - in June 2002, “Song Of The Coast” became a Sweet Adeline Chorus as the result of a merger of “Famous Beach Chorus” (1955) and “Heart of Daytona Chorus” (1994). This offered a dynamic Sweet Adeline Chorus for the Ormond Beach area.
Our director, Faye McLanahan, feels strongly that the purpose of Song Of The Coast is to bring the joy of barbershop singing to the community. Performances offer a variety of musical selections for various area groups and organizations.
Song Of The Coast paid performances are typically for community groups, civic functions and private events throughout Volusia and Flagler counties. Our charitable performances are normally for nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and churches. Song Of The Coast charities include the Salvation Army, Children’s Home Society, Domestic Abuse, Hospice and the Ronald McDonald House.
